Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service are looking for two passionate Specialist Practitioners to join our Prevention Team and lead an exciting e-bike safety project. This is a rare opportunity to help communities stay safe by tackling the growing fire risks linked to e-bikes.

What you will do

  • Deliver practical advice and support on e-bike safety to adults and families across Suffolk through home visits group sessions and school activities.
  • Work with partner agencies to reduce risks associated with e-bike use including fire hazards and vulnerabilities such as hoarding or enhanced care needs.
  • Represent Suffolk Fire and Rescue at community events as a speaker or exhibitor promoting safe e-bike practices and fire prevention.
  • Identify safeguarding concerns during visits make referrals where needed and troubleshoot faulty e-bike charging equipment advising on safe alternatives.
  • Support Key Stage 2 fire safety education and embed e-bike safety into wider community prevention initiatives.

What you will need

  • Essential: GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grade C or above).
  • Ability to assess risks apply practical solutions and resolve issues confidently.
  • Experience engaging with diverse groups and partners presenting information clearly in spoken English.
  • Competence in Word Excel and Outlook plus knowledge of processes for recording information on vulnerable persons.
  • Strong understanding of community safety principles and ability to deliver learning activities to varied audiences.
  • Skilled in recording and reporting safety information recognising the need for change and influencing improvements effectively.
