Position Summary:
Florida Atlantic University is seeking an Event Management Assistant. - Boca Raton FL.
The Event Management Assistant works onsite during events at the Student Union facilities. This position will oversee all aspects day-of event to ensure they run smoothly and address client needs. This person will also handle any emergencies or issues that arise during the event.
Summary of responsibilities:
- Serves as primary point of contact onsite during events at the Student Union facilities.
- Ensures event runs smoothly.
- Follows Student Union and university policies and ensures clients follow all policies during their event.
- Greets and checks in with client regularly during the event.
- Ensures overall attendee and guest experience is exceptional (by providing a high level of customer service).
- Works closely with the operations team onsite as needed for any client needs.
- Addresses any client needs and quickly resolves any issues that arise.
- Assists with making sure clients and guests have exited the building at the event end time.
- Directs student ushers to their stations during event.
- Works with student ushers to collect trash and lost and found in auditorium following events.
- Work with custodial staff to keep spaces clean. Contact custodial staff as needed to clean spills restrooms empty trash etc.
- Handles any emergencies that occur.
- Assist in safety of event spaces by keeping in contact with onsite police officers and alerting them of any issues.
- Report any issues (client maintenance etc.) to union admin staff in a timely manner.

Minimum Qualifications:
A high school diploma or equivalent and one year of appropriate experience required.
Salary:
$18 - $20 per hour.
