Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers in person and over the phone to gather information about their service needs.
- Create service orders detailing the customers concerns desired services and vehicle information.
- Communicate repair recommendations timelines and costs to customers in a clear and professional manner.
- Coordinate with technicians to ensure work is completed in a timely manner and according to customer specifications.
- Provide customers with detailed explanations of service requirements parts and repair processes.
- Track and update customers on the status of their vehicle service ensuring clear communication throughout.
- Maintain accurate records of all customer interactions and service orders in the system.
- Upsell additional services and products when appropriate ensuring customer satisfaction and service revenue goals are met.
- Handle customer complaints or concerns offering solutions and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Ensure all service documentation is completed and processed accurately including invoices warranties and other paperwork.
- Maintain a clean organized service area and ensure all customer vehicles are handled with care.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (automotive-related courses or training preferred).
- Proven experience in an automotive service writer or service advisor role (minimum 1 year preferred).
- Strong knowledge of automotive systems and repair processes.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written with a focus on customer service.
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with automotive service management software (e.g. CDK Reynolds & Reynolds etc.).
- Ability to work well independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
