Airbus Helicopters is the worlds largest helicopter manufacturer and the companys site at Oxford Airport is Britains civil helicopter hub.
AHUK offers considerable experience in helicopter sales bespoke completions maintenance and spares support. Its in-house engineering capabilities include design customisation installation flight-testing and certification as well as technical support maintenance training and the supply of spares for civil and military applications.
AHUK is the MoDs chosen provider of helicopters and maintenance for its No.1 Helicopter Flying school (referred to as MFTS) located in RAF Shawbury (Shropshire) and RAF Valley (Anglesey).
Description/Overall purpose of the Job
This a certifying role reporting to the Installation and Production Manager. The successful candidate should embody modifications and carry out maintenance to helicopters whilst being customised within the Installations department. To ensure that work is carried out IAW approved data. Releasing the helicopter back to service in a safe and airworthy condition.
Main responsibilities
Working closely with the supervisory team to ensure delegated all projects receive the correct support to achieve project completion on time and on budget.
Acting as a crew chief and be able to delegate tasks to those within the team
Ensuring compliance with the appropriate data and where necessary over sign the work that you have been delegated
Embody modifications to customers helicopters
Carry out the embodiment of prototype and series modifications in accordance with released and approved data from Airbus Helicopters UK Ltd or from third party STC holders.
Maintain standards required by Part 145 and Part 21G scope of approvals
Be able to liaise with the project management and design office teams
Maintain good levels of communication within the installations team
Ensure that good practices of H&S are maintained and that appropriate PPE for each task are being used
Uphold and enforce the hangar rules
Knowledge and Skills
Essential
Recent aviation experience
Experience of leading a small team
Knowledge of Part 145 and Part CAMO approvals.
Knowledge of CAA Part 21G Production an advantage
Knowledge of creating Form 1s
Ability to accurately interpret detailed mechanical drawings and associated data
Have recent experience of sheet metal manufacturing techniques
Recent experience of on and off aircraft riveting techniques
Knowledge of the use of specialist test equipment related to main and tail rotor vibration analysis
Ability to use Google Office SAP and MS products
Education Qualifications or Training
Essential
Completed a formal aviation apprenticeship
Hold a CAA Part 66 B1.3 license
Type ratings for the following an advantage
o H125 (AS350)
o H130
o H135 (EC135)
o H145 (BK117)
Initial Human Factors training
About you
Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative to high standards in order to ensure the continued safe operation of the aircraft.
Flexible with a positive approach and genuine enthusiasm for the role.
Reliable with the ability to remain calm when under pressure.
Well organized and methodical paying attention to detail.
Additional requirements
Due to the nature of this position you will require DBS Security Clearance and SC clearance.
