Young Adult Peer Mentor - LifeSkills

Exciting opportunity to join Riverside Community Care as a Peer Mentor!

Peer Mentors provide specialized expertise based on sharing their own lived experience of mental health challenges with purpose and intent to inspire hope and motivation in a youth who is struggling with similar concerns.

In this important role thePeer Mentor will:

  • guide youth through their treatment process providing outreach peer support and advocacy all in accordance to the clients individual service plan
  • help clients gain access to recovery resources and communities
  • work in coordination with the clinical team while using their recovery experience as a positive model for clients process.

Schedule: Part Time 20 hours

  • flexible hours between 8 a.m.- 4 p.m.; schedule to be determined with manager

Pay Rate:

  • $21.63/hour
  • $22.28/hour with Certification as a Peer Specialist

Required Skills

  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office) required
  • Valid drivers license and regular access to a reliable vehicle required

Required Experience

  • High School Degree/GED required; Bachelors preferred
  • One year experience working with target population required though experience as a consumer can be substituted
  • Certification as a Peer Specialist (can be attained after hire) required
