Job Summary
SURFLOT WO Digital
Primary purpose
The primary purpose of the WO Digital is to be the suitably qualified and experienced person for all engineering aspects of SURFLOTs digital transformation working across technical and operational boundaries to cohere requirements assure data integrity and drive the implementation of practical scalable digital solutions.
Accountability
WO Digital is accountable to SURFLOT SO1 Digital for the efficient and effective conduct of the responsibilities arising from these TORs.
Authority
Line authority.
WO Digital is authorised to deal directly at the appropriate level with the CGA FOST MCTA DE&S NBC and any other organisation on matters associated with the Primary and Secondary Purposes listed in this document.
Divisional authority.
WO Digital is subject to the following divisional reporting hierarchy:
- 1RO SO1 Digital
- 2RO Capt Engineering
Primary Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities of WO Digital are:
- Act as the Suitably Qualified and Experienced Person to navigate complex engineering aspects of SURFLOTs digital transformation
- To provide sustained RN Engineer oversight to ensure data integrity system alignment and operational effectiveness as the SURFLOT reference data manager.
- Understand and exploit latent data and information flows that are present within MoD to deliver a coherent and credible dashboard to customers within SURFLOT to enable effective decision making.
- Maintain and update entries into SURFLOT SO1 Digitals action/task tracker to ensure the timely delivery of all relevant internal and external activity.
- Provide level 1 support including manual requests (granting or removing access rights) to the user profile of the SURFLOT Assurance and Reporting Dashboard.
- Represent the digital dimension of SURFLOT in internal and external forums and provide leadership continuity in SURFLOT SO1 Digitals absence.
- Conduct tactical and investigative work to deliver projects and initiatives that do not sit within the organisational pillars as directed by SURFLOT SO1 Digital.
Secondary responsibilities
SURFLOT WO Digital secondary responsibilities are:
- As directed augment into the organisational pillars to support the In-Service Capability Management of Engineering Delivery Fleet Explosives CBRNDC/FF DDH and the Operating Safety Group to provide additional Warrant Officer capacity.
- Enhance the infrastructure equipment collective and individual training required to deliver operational outputs.
