Job Summary
MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center is looking for a Locum to Perm OB/GYN Hospitalist to start on January 1 2026!
Schedule:
- Start date: Jan 1 2026
- Patient Contact Hours: 7a-7a
- Shifts per month: 6.5
- Shift length: 24 hours
- On Call: 24/7 (in house call. call rooms are available.)
Details:
- Inpatient: Yes at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center
- Telehealth: No
- Supervision of APPs expected: No
- Number of exam rooms per provider: 8 bed OBED
- Medical Imaging: Yes
- Lab & Pharmacy: Yes
- Clinic provider daily volume: 1389 visits to OBED per year roughly 463 result in deliveries
- MFM will be on call. There are residents but the OB Hospitalist will not be in charge of them.
- No GYN responsibilities
- EMR: Epic
- OBED patients
- emergent patients (vaginal deliveries and C-sections)
- patients without primary OBGYN
- only maternity transport team in Iowa
Bill Rates needed for Submission:
- Malpractice (must be included in the rates)
- Orientation
- Hourly
- Holiday Hourly
- Overtime
- Holiday Overtime
- Conversion fee ($25k rate cap)

All providers submitted to a locum to perm position will be required to sign an attestation form verifying they are looking for a permanent position
Requirement description :
- Board Certified - REQUIRED (can accept truly board eligible candidates)
- Active IA License or Active IMLC - REQUIRED (please upload LOQ at time of name clear)
- Clean Malpractice/Background - REQUIRED
