Registered Nurse (RN) Emergency Department (ED) Location: Aurora IL 60506
Travel Assignment 36 Guaranteed Hours/Week
Shift: Nights 7:00 PM 7:00 AM
Position Summary The Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for delivering safe high-quality patient care utilizing the nursing process of assessment planning implementation and evaluation. The RN provides direct patient care within scope coordinates patient/family education and supports other nursing personnel while upholding professional nursing standards. This role requires rapid assessment skills strong clinical judgment and the ability to respond quickly to changing patient conditions in a fast-paced ED environment.
Key Responsibilities -
Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department using established nursing processes and clinical standards.

Assess plan implement and evaluate individualized patient care plans.

Communicate changes in patient condition diagnostic results and symptomatology to the physician promptly.

Respond rapidly and accurately to emergent situations and changes in patient status.

Maintain knowledge and compliance with EMTALA regulations.

Identify and report suspected child or adult abuse to appropriate agencies and the Hospital Social Worker.

Ensure patient privacy and confidentiality according to hospital policy and regulatory guidelines.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support optimal patient outcomes.

Guide mentor and support ancillary nursing staff in delivering safe patient care.

Provide thorough patient and family education regarding care treatment and follow-up.

Document all assessments interventions and patient responses accurately and timely.
Requirements
-
Current and valid state RN License.

Current BLS certification upon hire and must maintain.

Current ACLS certification upon hire and must maintain.

Current PALS and/or ENPC certification upon hire and must maintain.

Minimum 1 year of experience as a staff RN in an acute care hospital setting; Emergency Department experience preferred.

Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
May include weekends or holidays as needed.
