SAP Production Support Engineer Toronto Downtown (Onsite) Contract

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced SAP Production Support Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in SAP application support within business-critical environments. The ideal candidate will have deep experience managing incident resolutions performance issues enhancements and production stability for SAP modules preferably within the financial services domain. This role requires excellent communication analytical skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional business and technology teams in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Production Support & Issue Resolution

• Provide L2/L3 SAP production support across relevant SAP modules (FI/CO FI-CA MM SD BW HCM or others as applicable).

• Investigate and resolve daily operational issues SAP job failures performance bottlenecks and data discrepancies.

• Monitor system health batch jobs interfaces IDocs and integrations with upstream/downstream applications.

• Ensure high availability and stability of SAP environments through proactive monitoring and preventive actions.

Incident Problem & Change Management

• Own end-to-end resolution of incidents service requests and root-cause analysis for recurring issues.

• Work within ITIL-based environments handling incident problem and change management processes.

• Coordinate with functional and technical teams for patch deployment transports and change releases.

Enhancements & Continuous Improvements

• Identify improvement opportunities in workflows configurations integrations and performance tuning.

• Support testing (Unit SIT UAT) for enhancements patches and system updates.

• Assist users with data updates configuration changes reporting fixes and small enhancements.

Stakeholder & Business Interaction

• Collaborate closely with business teams project managers QA BASIS ABAP and infrastructure teams.

• Work directly with finance/business operations teams to understand critical processes (P2P O2C GL AP/AR reporting cycles).

• Communicate system impacts timelines and risks effectively with stakeholders.

Required Skills & Experience

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology Engineering or related field.

• Experience supporting SAP applications in the banking or financial services industry is highly preferred.

• At Least 4-6 years of experience in SAP Production Support across one or more modules.

• Deep understanding of SAP workflow configurations interfaces and functional processes.

• Strong knowledge of SAP FI/CO FICA processes (highly preferred for financial domain).

• Hands-on experience with:

  • Monitoring tools (Solution Manager CCMS ALM)

  • Batch job monitoring (SM37)

  • IDocs (WE02/WE05)

  • RFCs BAPIs Integrations

  • User/Authorization issues

• Understanding of ABAP debugging is an added advantage.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Exposure to S/4HANA environments.

• Experience with cloud integrations (Azure/AWS).

• Knowledge of Jira ServiceNow or similar ticketing tools.

• Experience with automation for repetitive tasks.
