Purpose: Under supervision of NPI Process Excellence Manager the Technician will have a key role giving support to engineering teams with capacity studies and continuous improvement for new products.

You will be responsible for:

In accordance with all applicable federal state and local laws/regulations and Corporate Johnson & Johnson procedures and guidelines this position:

  • Monitor through periodic reviews the proper application of standardized operation procedures based on the usage of lean manufacturing tools.
  • Develop improvements oriented to lean manufacturing principles for new processes and manage changes related to them.
  • Report to NPI Process Excellence Manager progress and risk according to the implementation of the new processes improvements.
  • Responsible for communicating business-related issues or opportunities to next management level
  • Responsible for following all Company guidelines related to Health Safety and Environmental practices as applicable.
  • For those who supervise or manage a staff responsible for ensuring that subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition if applicable
  • Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal State local and Company regulations policies and procedures
  • Performs other duties assigned as needed
  • Under minimum supervision works in complex by nature assignments in which own judgment initiative and problem-solving skills are required such as operations analysis processes standardization and implementation of other lean manufacturing tools.

  • Reviews in conjunction with other technicians capacity studies proposals and new lines balancing.

  • Trains associates within department initiatives.

  • Gives general advice on the usage of lean manufacturing tools

  • Provides information on projects progress and/or activities to project or area leaders and keeps project plan updated.

  • Supports the development and preparation of training material for standard job and other lean manufacturing tools.

  • Develops and analyzes graphics tables schemes drawings and presentations.

  • Designs layout proposals for production areas workstations.

  • Manages equipment and tools installations within clean room following applicable procedures.

  • Creates line flow simulations using simulations software packaged such as but not limited to FlexSim or Plant Simulator.

  • Analyzes process data such as cycle time through descriptive statistics.

  • Identifies improvement and innovation opportunities focused on optimizing key performance indicators (KPIs) and develops designs of applicable solutions.

  • Is the point of contact with suppliers; follows up on quotes and purchase orders and makes sure to follow applicable procedures.

  • Prepares protocols and reports for evaluations and process changes as necessary.

  • Develops writes and documents new procedures or applicable changes in PLM system.

  • In conjunction with MES departments defines the necessary dynamic or static changes in MES system to realize the new product lines process and flow designs.

Qualifications / Requirements:

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

  • High school diploma or technical degree are minimum required
  • From 6 to 8 years. Knowledge in medical products industry preferent.

  • English language preferent.

  • Knowledge in Lean Manufacturing and/or six sigma tools expected. Grean Lean Belt certification is preferred.

  • Proficient using several types of software to create graphics tables and/or presentations.

  • High level of creativity

  • Proactive

  • Basic knowledge of object-oriented programming (preferent)

  • Currently studying last semesters or graduated of Professional Degree in Engineering (preferent).

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS ABILITIES CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES and AFFILIATIONS

  • Preferent have knowledge in medical products industry and/or 6 sigma or lean manufacturing.
  • Bilingual: Spanish/English preferred.
  • Skill to use computer packages (e.g. Microsoft Office Power Point AutoCAD Minitab Flexism etc.)
  • Windchill PLM System (preferent)
  • MES Camstar (preferent)
  • Knowledge in Lean Manufacturing and/or six sigma tools expected.
