Job Summary

General Area of Responsibility:

1. The 2nd Engineer reports to the Chief Engineer.

2. In case of emergency and the Chief Engineer is not available the 2nd Engineer takes over the Chief Engineers responsibility as above but also according to Emergency Response Manual

3. To perform operational duties as requested by the Chief Engineer related to all tasks of the vessel including Salvage operations

4. To carry out maintenance duties on deck in the engine room or accommodation in a safe manner

5. Ensure the Planned Maintenance System is kept updated and is followed

6. Comply with the regulations of the company safety management system. including a general awareness of the various risks that are present in the operations of a tug (OH&S environment security and cyber security risks).

7. Propose initiatives for raising the onboard safety level

8. Active participation in safety training like drills onboard including delivering training to other crew members

9. Comply with local regional national and international legislation.
