Professorship for Digital Entrepreneurship & Innovation Management (mfd)

The Position at XU:

We shape the next generation of global innovators. We are looking for an entrepreneur or innovation expert to teach the business side of technology. You will empower students to turn ideas into scalable ventures and manage innovation in established companies. Through our practice-based education model you will guide students in creating real ventures within the AI and digital business landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

You will assume duties in teaching research and academic self-administration in accordance with 42 and 43 BbgHG.

• Teaching & Student Supervision: Teaching modules in the study program in classroom blended and online formats. This includes module responsibility examination acceptance and student supervision.

• Program Development: Active participation in the further development of study programs quality assurance and accreditation procedures. This involves the conception creation and adaptation of teaching and learning materials.

• Research & Transfer: Development of a distinct personal research profile and publication of results. You will initiate expand and maintain cooperation with partners in industry and research.

• Administration: Active participation in academic administration committee work and student recruitment events.

Teaching Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for teaching modules such as:

• Venture Creation Labs

• Business Planning & Pitching

• Digital Business Models

• Innovation Management & Design Thinking

• New Product Development and Scaling-up Strategies

• Technology Trends & Future Industries

Your Profile & Research Focus:

While a broad understanding of the field is expected we seek a candidate who can deepen at least one of the following core areas:

• Venture Creation: Startup incubation lean start-up funding strategies and scaling-up.

• Digital Business Models: Platform economy ecosystem strategy and digital services.

• Innovation Management: Design Thinking rapid prototyping and open innovation.

• Corporate Entrepreneurship: Intrapreneurship and strategic business planning.

Requirements ( 43 BbgHG):

• Completed university degree and a PhD (magna cum laude or equivalent).

• Pedagogical aptitude for teaching in English.

• Minimum of 3 years professional experience of which at least 2 years were spent outside the university sector.

• Relevant practical experience in founding venture capital business development or innovation management.

• Experience in acquiring third-party funding is considered an asset.
