Job Summary and Responsibilities
GI Lab Unit Description:
At Longmont United Hospital the Preop PACU GI and Infusion departments are co-located fostering a highly collaborative and team-oriented culture. Staff members often take on multiple responsibilities while specializing in one area offering opportunities for diverse experience.
Our Endoscopy unit features two suites performing an average of 170 procedures monthly running five days a week. Outpatient Infusion services manage 5-15 patients daily. We have six operating rooms handling approximately 175 surgeries per month including general orthopedic opthalmologic urologic ENT and plastic surgeries with robotic assistance.
Our mission is to deliver exceptional surgical care with respect and compassion. We cultivate a warm open environment encouraging all team members to actively participate in departmental decision-making. - The schedule for this position is PRN a minimum of 5 shifts per 6 week schedule period required.
- We offer a 15% PRN differential for all hours worked.
- You must live within 30 minutes or less of the facility for On-Call requirements. This is required and cannot be changed in any capacity.
As a Registered Nurse (RN) you will assume responsibility and accountability for:
- Facilitating communicating and collaborating with both the healthcare team and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical emotional and spiritual needs of the patient.
- Promote the optimal health well-being and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards guidelines and the State Nurse Practice Act.
- Demonstrate personal accountability for relationship-based care organizational mission and core values.
Job Requirements
In addition to bringing HumanKindnessto the workplace each day qualified nursing candidates will need the following:
Education Requirements
- Associates Degree in Nursing required; Nursing Diploma or by endorsement
- Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required for new graduates preferred for experienced RNs
Experience Requirements
- One year of RN experience required within the GI setting
- Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty
Licenses/Certification Requirements
- RN License required; Current state nursing licenses or valid RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact. Colorado Only: RNs working in Colorado under a multi-state license must obtain their CO RN license within 30 days of establishing residency i.e. drivers license register to vote etc. Compact to Compact. Upon issuance of a new multi-statelicensethe former license is inactivated. For more information visitColorado Board of Nursing - Compact Licensure
