Details of Organisation/Business Directorate The Principal Security Adviser (PSyA) to the Navy Command (NC) TLB is responsible through COS (Navy) as the NC Senior Security Risk Coordinator (NC SSRC) for providing Navy Command Senior Leadership Team with assurance of effective: Management of security risks across the NC TLB. Maintenance of agreed security standards in accordance with MOD security policy. | |||||||||||
Job Purpose - background and context Be the Directorates focal point for Physical Security Infrastructure policy. SME advise on Operational Requirements Counter Terrorism Measures (CTM) and associated assessment processes for infrastructure projects/works and new builds in accordance with JSP 440 MOD STRAP/SAP policy International partners infrastructure requirements and other relevant publications. Coordinate with external agencies to facilitate specialist assistance and technical advice to support NC security teams and Project Security Officers (PSyO) involved in physical security infrastructure projects/works and new builds. Engaging with DSR NPSA UK NACE DIO VIVO and Navy Infra regarding policy and process for Physical Security Infrastructure surrounding major projects/works and new builds. Coordinate sharing best practice and SME advice from external agencies including but not limited to NPSA UK NACE DIO and Defence contractors. Assure aspects of protective security for projects/works and new builds at Shore Establishment including acceptance on behalf of NC PSyA on completion of any project/works undertaken. Advise and support the PSYA ASSURANCE and PHYSICAL SECURITY SEOs and be available to provide SME advice to PSyOs on protective security matters. Local Considerations: Expected to travel anywhere in the UK at short notice deploy overseas and be available for out of hours SME advice. Aspects of the job can be achieved through home working flexible working is essential due to being on call for SME advice. Must have a full UK Driving Licence and remain in-date for My-Drive Requirements. Experience in protective security is seen as essential for the role including but not limited to the use of the OR and associated processes CTM standards and procurement and delivery of security products. Pre-join Requirements and Continuous Development: Must have attended Defence Protective Security Practitioner (DPSP) before taking on the role and remain in date for mandatory training and awareness courses. Continuous development through attend NPSA UK NACE and other civilian courses to attain a broader understanding of protective security.
