Description

The Assistant Plant Manager will report to the Plant Manager and lead the Plant Production Teams. The Assistant Plant Manager will lead a team of functional manufacturing leaders (Body Paint Final Industrial Engineering Production etc.) and have oversite forapproximately 2600 employees across the site.

  • Lead implementation of the Ford Production System aligned with lean principles and behaviorsto drive structured problem solving at all levels of the organization.

  • Leadtransformation and change management efforts to advance the companys competitiveness.

  • Serve as a positive change agent drivingresults and leveraging relationships to get things done.

  • Establish and operationalize local vision and mission through clear goal setting and communicationthrough structured operational cadences.

  • Strong problem solver who can lead effectivelyunder pressure and crisis manage when necessary.

  • Lead costs reductions and manages plant resources responsibly and for the betterment of the plant operations and profitability.

Qualifications
  • 10 years of progressive responsibilities and experience in operations leadership in a high-volume high-precision complex manufacturing environment and experience overseeing an operation of 2000 employees.

  • Bachelors degree in engineering or technical field.

  • Lean/Six Sigma certification or demonstrated equivalent experience applying lean manufacturingprinciples and standardized work i.e. Hoshin Kanri.

OUR PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

  • A masters degree or equivalent experience in an engineering or a technical field.

  • Experience partnering with the union to advance problem-solving at the plant-floor level.

  • Experience in high volume automotive assembly.

  • Major new model/new facility launch experience.

  • Deep manufacturing engineering technical capabilities.

  • Hands on leader who has strong relationship building skills and experience interfacing with hourly and salaried employees within a unionized manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to drive cultural transformation.

  • Deep understanding of managing cost constraints demonstrating strong financialacumen.

  • Aspiration for continued career growth and new challenges.
