We have an exciting role on offer within our Access and Safeguarding as a Housing Solutions Officer (Temporary Accommodation Move on).

ACT (Accessing Change Together) integrates council staff and partner organisations and provides a range of support and interventions in relation to service users who need support with Housing Support and Homelessness Domestic Abuse and Substance Use. ACT (Accessing Change Together) is an integrated service which means that lots of support services are working together and using a shared case load management system.
This makes it easier for service users to get access to services they need so they receive the right support and easier for council staff and partner organisations to work together. The teams work alongside other services including Adult & Childrens Social Care and Public Health to develop consistent pathways and effective processes. We have an opportunity available within ACT (Accessing Change Together) for a Temporary Accommodation Officer within Housing Solutions Team in Middlesbrough council.
The post holder will make statutory decisions in line with the relevant legislation whilst working with individuals couples and families who are placed in interim and temporary accommodation to facilitate their move on into long term accommodation in a timely manner. The post holder will take a proactive approach to ensure all suitable housing options are explored and will have a problem-solving approach to resolve any difficulties. The post holder will work closely with colleagues in our Housing Solutions and Community Interventions Team to ensure suitability and sustainability of offers of accommodation and will be required to carry out visits to temporary accommodation and to attend viewings of properties where required.
Whilst in post there will be development opportunities alongside flexible working with the option of a blended working environment (home and office where appropriate). New staff joining Middlesbrough can expect a warm welcome from the teams our Director and Chief Executive and full induction process.
To be successful in this role you need to demonstrate how they prioritise development and well-being of a team has experience of working effectively with a range of services and has the skills passion and resilience to work creatively with service users who are accessing ACT accessing Change Together and need ongoing support in relation to Housing Homelessness and /or Domestic Abuse.
