Role Overview:

The New York Life Summer Internship experience offers an exciting opportunity for rising juniors and seniors looking to gain exposure to a corporate environment. As part of your summer youll participate in learning and development activities gaining insight into our business and how our company functions. The summer internship program also includes additional social and networking opportunities where you will be able to expand your network with peers mentors and senior leaders.

The Summer Internship opportunity is 10 weeks long beginning Monday June 1st 2026 and concluding Thursday August 6 2026. Interns will work on a hybrid schedule with Mondays and Fridays remotely.

This internship is located in Overland Park KS.

What Youll Do:

Transform data into business intelligence and build dashboards that drive decisions with our Institutional Life department.

The Institutional Life Architecture and Engineering team designs and builds the technology infrastructure that powers New York Lifes institutional business. We establish technical standards modernize legacy systems implement AI and automation solutions and manage the data ecosystem ensuring our platforms are scalable secure and aligned with business strategy.

This pathway is ideal for students who are curious about how businesses use data to make decisions enjoy working with technology and want to build skills in analytics problem-solving and digital tools that are highly valued in todays workplace.

Projects may include:

  • Building out business dashboards for analytics

  • Migrating Tableau reports to AWS QuickSight
  • Documenting existing Data Models using AI

What Youll Bring:

Must be enrolled at an accredited 4-year university or college with anticipated graduation date between December 2026 and May 2028.

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI

  • Exposure to Python and AWS Quicksight a plus

  • Ability to translate data into meaningful insights and clear visualizations

  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities

  • Curiosity about digital tools automation and technology-driven business solutions

  • Coursework or interest in business analytics data science information systems or related fields

Additional Details:

  • Interns are expected to work for the duration of the 10-week internship.
  • To be eligible for this program you must be authorized to work in the U.S. We do not offer any type of employment-based immigration sponsorship for this program. Likewise this program is not available to those authorized to work under optional practical training (OPT) or curricular practical training (CPT).
