Job Summary
PARA I (GR 18)
EDUCATION AND RELEVANT EXP. REQUIREMENTS:
HS diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of 60 semester hours from an accredited educational institution with at least 30 semester
hours in general education core curriculum and/or child development and education or successful
completion of the ParaPro test with a score of 457 or higher.
Experience working w/children.
Head Start Preschool asst teacher qualification requirements: As prescribed in section 648A(a)(2)
(B)(ii) of the Act a program must ensure Head Start Preschool asst teachers at a minimum
have a CDA credential or a State-awarded cert that meets or exceeds the requirements for a
CDA credential are enrolled in a program that will lead to an AA or baccalaureate degree or
are enrolled in a CDA credential program to be completed within 2 years of the time of hire.
PARA II (GR 19)
EDUCATION AND RELEVANT EXP. REQUIREMENTS:
AA degree or higher from an accredited educational institution required.
Experience working w/children.
