POSITION SUMMARY:

The Buyer is responsible for the procurement of goods and services for all assigned Enloe Medical Center departments. The Buyer shall ensure that all procurement transactions comply with the policies and procedures of Enloe Medical Center and the Enloe Purchasing Department. The Buyer will ensure that all procurement transactions are completed legally ethically and within the best interests of Enloe Medical Center.

EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:

Minimum:

Associates degree (AA) in business healthcare supply chain or related field OR one (1) year

procurement-related work experience or clinical experience in a healthcare setting.

Desired:

Bachelors degree or higher

Computer experience using spreadsheet word processing and database

Prior healthcare procurement experience

SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:

Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with strong customer service emphasis. Ability to work as a team member with Departmental and Medical Center staff to complete desired goals and objectives. Ability to identify customers needs and work with others to develop solutions to satisfy those needs without compromising the integrity of the procurement process. Must have the ability to operate a variety of computer programs including Microsoft Office Suite applications. Shall possess a professional attitude that promotes and enhances a positive image of the Department and Medical Center. Working knowledge of medical supplies and terminology preferred. Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
