Job Summary

This is a fulltime permanent position working a 35 hour week flexibly Monday - Friday between 07:00 - 19:00

The purpose of this job involves supporting the Clinical Supplies Operation Packaging team.  The scope of this service is associated with planning and assuring Clinical orders are scheduled in according to key deadlines to assure Clinical Supplies are maintained.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Co-ordination scheduling and processing of internal packaging process orders and associated activities to meet client deadlines and facilitate the final release of clinical trial supplies.
  • Control and monitor production processes and equipment; resolve problems or correct abnormal conditions conduct basic troubleshooting and escalate problems appropriately.
  • Build capabilities to participate in equipment validation and system user acceptance testing as required.
  • Complete and review electronic batch documentation equipment log books and other documentation relevant to the production process for all stages of production for both product and labels.
  • Develop and apply a working knowledge of relevant electronic system operations including SAP temperature monitoring and product stability information systems.
  • Understand and follow the clients GMP related quality standards of relevant packaging label authoring printing inspecting and logistics environments.
  • Understand the internal and external regulatory environment pertinent to clinical trials and pharmaceutical development and support internal audits and regulatory inspections.
  • Build understanding of blinding principles and conduct in-process controls to maintain blinding integrity.
  • Liaise with Quality groups to ensure appropriate approvals and chain of custody.
  • Document data as dictated by current BMS policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that the client gets the best possible service by continually reviewing best practice in relation to both commercial and quality issues and ensuring 100% ethical work standards.
  • Learn to be aware of the clients requirements and strive to meet or exceed those requirements keeping in mind the client process end points.
  • Learn to deal with client queries and contact designated personnel with appropriate support from onsite leadership.
  • To ensure that the clients requirements are fully met or exceeded and in so doing will be flexible to work in any area of the business as is required.
  • To have a clear understanding of the client relationship and service goals.
  • To ensure uniformity reproducibility and reliability in all work practices.
  • To work cohesively in a team environment supporting colleagues collaboratively.
  • Once foundational knowledge is in place start to identify any opportunities for improvement of quality and service and work with the team to implement continuous improvement.
  • Attend regular client/Eurofins team meetings. Engage in these meetings gaining learning and understanding of the wider communities.
  • To learn to deal with customer queries and contact designated personnel with appropriate support from Lead Analyst with any relevant information or issues relating to results or the service in general.
  • To become fully familiar with and keep up to date with any technological development in their area ensuring their training is complete and adjusting their work as required with approval from the Lead Analyst.
  • To assure the Packaging areas are clean and tidy in both seen and unseen areas and support safety inspections as required.
  • To keep their training records up to date and participate in and initiate training as required by the customer or directed by the Lead Analyst.

Qualifications :

  • A Degree or above in a relevant Scientific discipline or significant experience in this field.
  • Ability to maintain accurate recordings of packaging orders and assure compliance and full traceability of operations.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills both internally and externally.
  • Ability to build strong interpersonal relationships with colleagues driving collaboration.
  • Experience of delivering process improvement.
  • Ability to work using fully electronic media including MS Office and ERP ideally SAP.
  • Good team player organised accurate have strong documentation skills.
