Essential Job Functions:
- Follow cycle menus and standardized recipes in preparing a variety of meals for students and staff.
- Prepare ingredients including cleaning slicing chopping measuring weighing and portioning with accuracy and consistency.
- Execute basic cooking techniques such as roasting baking sauteing and boiling in accordance with safety and quality standards.
- Monitor food quality and communicate concerns to supervisors immediately.
- Responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of equipment and work areas.
- Adheres to food and safety handling policies and HACCP and PPE procedures.
- Support meal service in Harvest Hall including food truck or grab-and-go stations ensuring timely and friendly service to students and staff.
- Engage with students and staff in a respectful service-oriented manner that aligns with WCPAs values.
- Work collaboratively with other food service team members and culinary leads.
- Participate in staff development and training in food trends kitchen safety and recipe innovation.
- May perform drop-off or delivery services.
- May perform any of the duties described in the Food Services Worker I specification or other duties as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 5:00 am - 1:30 pm
Pay Range: $16.50- $18.50/hour. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
Qualifications :
- Prior food service experience
- Ability to obtain and maintain a California Food Handler Training Certificate
- Demonstrated reliability organization and ability to follow standardized recipes and kitchen procedures
- Valid California non-commercial Class Drivers license if performing drop-off or delivery services
Working Conditions:
- Ability to walk stand and patrol for extended periods as well as respond quickly to incidents. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds if needed.
- Work schedule can fluctuate
- Wet floors. (must wear non-slip closed-toe footwear)
- Ability to work in hot temperatures.
- Exposure to hot and cold water.
- Ability to work around hot equipment or cold refrigeration.
- Constant noise.
