Salary: This position has a salary of around $53000.
Start Date: School Year 2025/2026
SUMMARY: The IDEA Curriculum Coordinator plans and coordinates the development of curriculum objectives for grades 3-12 Special Education as well as generally oversees the development implementation and assessment of teacher developed customized lessons activities assessments and tools for these grades.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.
- Coordinates the development of curriculum objectives for grades 3-12 Special Education; Monitors the implementation and evaluation of these objectives;
- Plans and monitors teacher development and implementation of customized lessons activities assessments and tools for these grades including special populations;
- Evaluates effectiveness of the material;
- Supports course audits ensuring alignment to state standards.
- Develops and aligns curriculum assessments and instructional materials to state standards
- Ensures instructional programs meet all state and federal guidelines including those for special populations (e.g. GT ELL Special Education).
- Collaborates with teachers and administrators to design formative and summative assessments.
- Mentors/acts as a resource to teachers by providing expertise and ongoing support; Conducts curriculum meetings as required;
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Three (3) years of teaching experience
- Curriculum Design experience
- Working knowledge of Texas state standards (TEKS)
- Microsoft Office (Outlook Word Excel PowerPoint Project Visio etc.); Web proficiency.
- Excellent organizational communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to travel 20% of the time
- Ability to clear required background check
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Masters degree in Curriculum
- Experience developing curriculum and assessment
- Experience with building High Quality Instructional Materials for the classroom
- Project Management experience
- Experience teaching or leading in an online setting
