We are looking for a GL Manager to join our this role you will manage an accounting staff prepare and analyze journal entries perform month and year-end closings prepare and review general ledger reconciliations and support warehouse role reports to the Assistant Controller and will provide support to Accounting/Finance team management.

Duties and Responsibilities

Manage and oversee the daily operations of the General Ledger department
Assign projects and direct staff to ensure compliance and accuracy
Perform month/year-end financial analysis of actual results against budget/forecast and have an understanding of business conditions to ensure financial statements are reported in accordance with GAAP
Prepares and records asset liability revenue and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information
Complete complex balance sheet reconciliations and income statement analysis
Summarize financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet profit and loss and other statements
Coordinates more complex accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting and finance team or with other departments
Demonstrate an understanding of various accounting processes and identify root causes/areas for improvement
Research technical accounting issues and be able to work with management on solutions
Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree with emphasis in Accounting or at least 5-10 years experience in finance

Preferred Qualifications

CPA certificate
4 years experience in an accounting environment
Strong organizational skills with ability to balance multiple priorities
Excellent communication skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
Self-starter who takes initiative and demonstrates ownership until work is completed
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools especially Excel

Physical Demands

Physical demands include a considerable amount of time sitting and typing/keyboarding using a computer (e.g. keyboard mouse and monitor) or adding machine
Physical demands with activity or condition may occasionally include walking bending reaching standing and stooping
May require occasional lifting/lowering pushing carrying or pulling up to 15lbs
