Job Summary
Amazon is seeking a business oriented Program Manager for the Global Engineering Services Program Management Office to support the capacity capital planning and project for the continued expansion of our AMET (Africa Middle East and Turkey) fulfillment network. Successful candidates will have strong level of ownership and be highly motivated individuals who have Engineering Project/Program Management experience. The role will understand the details of an Amazon Fulfillment Center design implementation modeling estimating and managing new Fulfillment Center startups. This individual will support on one or more capital projects. The Program Manager will have high work capacity while being detailed oriented and agile to manage business changes and keep driving the initiatives. This individual needs to be a strong collaborator with different functional teams and people working across multiple locations.
Key job responsibilities
Work with internal Amazon teams and external partners to deliver CAPEX projects and innovations to win business.
Be a governance and facilitator that maintains structure procedures and standard ways of working that follow a common language for project and program delivery.
Develop and implement unified platform tools information systems and leverage analytics and data visualization to support reporting and decision making process.
Develop evaluate and simplify current working procedures and improve organization team structure.
Create submit and track the relevant Capex documentation to ensure that all projects are delivered on time within budget and best overall value.
Communicate project status drive and elevate decision making and help requests.
Lead critical path schedule items and escalate to leadership on potential risks and delays.
Assist in engineering capacity management for AMET.
Ability to understand Operational processes.
About the team
The AMET Program Management Office (PMO) is a function championing project management excellence in the organization coordinating the portfolio of projects planning the priorities defining and maintaining project standards.
5 years of program or project management experience
5 years of working cross functionally with tech and nontech teams experience
5 years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience
Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL
Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
Experience building processes project management and schedules
5 years of developing program strategies and plans diving and influencing senior stakeholders experience
Bachelors degree in Engineering Operations Construction management Business Administration or a related field
5 years of driving end to end delivery and communicating results to senior leadership experience
3 years of driving process improvements experience
Experience in stakeholder management dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization
PMP certificate
Speak write and read fluently in either of these preferred languages: German French Polish Arabic Turkish Afrikaans Zulu and Portuguese.
