The Opportunity & Role Profile
This highly regarded Independent Preparatory School requires an innovative and passionate Computing Teacher to lead the curriculum across Key Stage 1 and 2. The role is a permanent three-day-per-week position offering the chance to develop foundational digital literacy and coding skills in younger pupils with scope to teach introductory Computing at Key Stage 3. The school can provide full ECT induction support.
Core Responsibilities & Teaching Scope
Primary Lead: Leading the Computing curriculum across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 (Years 1-6).
Coding Expert: Delivering engaging instruction in foundational concepts including control programming and robotics using tools like Scratch and physical computing.
Secondary Link: Teaching introductory Computing lessons to Key Stage 3 students (Years 7-8) to ensure a smooth transition.
ECT Mentor: For suitable candidates the school offers a dedicated mentor and reduced timetable to complete the full ECT induction programme.
Compensation & Benefits
Essential Requirements: Relevant Degree and QTS (or be due to obtain QTS). Passionate experience teaching Primary Computing is vital.
Salary: Highly competitive pro-rata salary compensated on the schools independent pay scale.
