Environmental Health and Safety Leader
SUMMARY: The Environmental Health & Safety Leader is responsible for developing and owning safety strategies that support the organizations operational objectives ensure regulatory compliance and promotes a safe sustainable and efficient work environment. This role provides strategic leadership for all EHS programs across the US locations.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Develop implement and maintain corporate EHS policies programs and compliance systems.
- Ensure adherence to all federal state and local EHS regulations including OSHA EPA and NFPA standards.
- Track & publish Recordable Rate Scorecard by site for annual ESG Report (DART TRIR LTR).
- Conduct regular site inspections audits and risk assessments to proactively address hazards.
- Lead incident investigations root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
- Oversee employee training programs related to safety emergency response and hazard awareness.
- Manage hazardous materials handling storage and disposal in accordance with regulations.
- Coordinate emergency preparedness crisis management and business continuity planning.
- Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies external auditors and industry organizations.
- Track analyze and report EHS performance metrics to senior leadership.
- Creating reports on safety and other occurrences for supervisors and other relevant staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelors degree
- OR an additional 3 years of specific work experience in lieu of degree.
- 5 years of relevant/technical work experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word Excel Outlook and scheduling applications.
- Knowledge of OSHA and other environmental regulations.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven track record of driving operational efficiency and safety performance improvements.
- Strong budget management vendor negotiation and project management skills.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- Masters degree.
- 8 years of operational work experience.
