Job Summary:
Promotes and restores patients health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; providing physical and psychological support to patients friends and families; supervising assigned team members. Nursing care is rendered to all patients in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act hospital Nursing Department and regulatory standards. Responsible for care of patients in the operating room. Provides for patient care as a circulating and/or scrub nurse and teacher to ensure safe and therapeutically effective nursing care. Maintains the work area. Participates in 24-hour call coverage. Uses skills in nursing assessment to include recognizing post-anesthesia and post-operative complications.
Education and Training:
- Minimum of an Associates degree from an accredited school of Nursing required; BSN preferred.
Licensures/Certifications:
- Current Washington State RN license
- Current American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification card on hire.
- ACLS & PALS required within 6 months of hire
Experience:
- Previous experience in Operating Room and Recovery Room nursing preferred.
Skills and Abilities:
- Must have strong communication/writing skills.
- Able to deal effectively with patients and family members.
- Able to work in a team environment while maintaining a highly professional and productive work ethic.
- Computer proficiency
