Service Setting: Outpatient Clinic and Hospital-Based Endoscopy Services
Schedule: MondayFriday clinic and procedural schedule; flexibility available based on program needs
On-Call Expectations: Light call; schedule to be determined with department leadership
PATIENT POPULATION & SCOPE
Patient Demographics: Adults and Geriatrics
Average Daily Volume / Census: High procedural and clinic demand within a referral-rich region
Admissions & Rounding: As required for GI-related inpatient consults and follow-up
Consults & Follow-Ups: GI consults supported by collaborative primary care and specialty teams
Case Mix/Clinical Focus Areas: General Gastroenterology endoscopy colonoscopy advanced procedures depending on skill set
FACILITY & TEAM DETAILS
Beds in Department/Unit: Critical Access Hospital with integrated outpatient GI services
Trauma Designation: N/A (CAH with established transfer pathways)
EMR System: Modern EMR with streamlined documentation workflows
Specialty Backup: Access to Anesthesia Surgery Radiology Primary Care and support for procedural volume growth
Support Staff: Experienced nursing staff anesthesia coverage clinical support team and engaged administrative leadership
Leadership & Reporting Structure: Reports to Medical Director or Chief Medical Officer
Reason for Opening: Program growth and expansion of Gastroenterology services
CREDENTIALING & COMPLIANCE
Board Requirements: BC/BE in Gastroenterology
DEA & Certifications: Active DEA; BLS and ACLS required
Credentialing Timeline: Approximately 6090 days

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Board Status: BC/BE in Gastroenterology
State License Required: Eligibility for Idaho medical licensure
Certifications: ACLS and BLS required
Experience: Gastroenterology experience preferred; new graduates welcome to apply
Additional Requirements: Ability to work independently and collaboratively; EMR proficiency; strong communication skills
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide full-spectrum Gastroenterology care in both outpatient and hospital-based environments
Perform endoscopy colonoscopy and additional GI procedures based on training and clinical strengths
Evaluate and manage GI-related conditions with support from nursing anesthesia surgery and primary care teams
Participate in program development quality initiatives and strategic service-line growth
Maintain accurate and compliant clinical documentation
Contribute to team-based care and collaborative clinical decision-making
