THE POSITION: At STACK the Indirect Tax Director is an essential part of the Tax Team. You will play an integral leadership role in the indirect tax function including implementing tax incentives strategy and managing tax incentives compliance and reporting for our data center investments in the United States and this role you will have tremendous opportunities to grow professionally. To be successful in this role in addition to having strong technical tax knowledge you will need to have excellent communications skills strong attention to detail be exceptionally organized self-motivated and a master problem-solver. Key job responsibilities will include: - Work closely with our Public Policy and Site Selection teams to identify develop and negotiate indirect tax incentives for new data center developments.
- Serve as STACKs technical resource for all indirect tax issues.
- Work with our Investment and Construction Finance teams to budget and model indirect tax assumptions into underwriting models.
- Work with our legal team on indirect tax provisions in customer or vendor agreements.
- Manage complex sales & use tax incentive programs including coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely and complete reporting.
- Improve existing processes and support STACKS procurement function to ensure use tax compliance and proper application of sales tax incentives.
- Manage all indirect tax compliance (US & Canada) tax audits and incentive process and reporting.
- Monitor indirect tax landscape and legislative changes in markets where STACK operates.

- Travel:less than 10%
- Compensation: $141000 - $163000
- Additional 20% Annual Discretionary Bonus

QUALIFICATIONS: - BS in accounting/finance/economics MS/Tax preferred
- 10 15 years of work experience (public accounting and industry) in indirect tax
- Experience with commercial real estate and data centers preferred
- CPA preferred
- Tax engine experience (Vertex Avalara) preferred
- State & local income/franchise unclaimed property or property tax experience is a plus
- Canadian indirect tax experience is a plus
- NetSuite experience is a plus
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office product suite particularly Excel and Power Point
- Detail-oriented
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to effectively communicate complex tax concepts to various stakeholder groups
- Team player Enjoys collaborating and works well cross-functionally with other teams
- Ability to execute process and prioritize tasks with minimal to no supervision
- Proven success in creating efficiencies in processes and procedures
