Student Worker Achievement Mentor
Number of Openings: 3
Purpose/Objective of the Role:
The Pathfinder Program is a supportive initiative designed to help students achieve their academic and personal goals.
This program offers comprehensive support through various wraparound services and dedicated mentorship.
Tasks & Responsibilities:
The Achievement Mentor plays a crucial role in the Pathfinder Program.
Primary responsibilities:
- Monitor study hall participation by keeping track of scholars attendance and engagement in study hall sessions
- Weekly follow-ups with scholars
- Conduct regular check-ins to determine:
- How classes are going
- Class attendance and any missed classes
- Upcoming quizzes or tests
- Need for additional support
- Any good news or positive developments
- Update notes in the spreadsheet
- Record the days you connected with students
- Include any useful information gathered during interactions
- Follow up with Jason or Anja
- Forward concerns about scholars
- Report scholars who are not responding to communication attempts
- Additional Tips for Success:
- One-on-One meetings: Personalized sessions with mentors or advisors
- Classroom follow-ups: Regular check-ins related to classroom performance and attendance
- Study hall: Dedicated time and space for focused studying
- Direct intervention: Targeted support for specific challenges or needs
- Be consistent
- Remain organized
- Be approachable
- Celebrate achievements
- Know how to collaborate
- Must be upperclassmen
- Must have 2.0 GPA
- Potential Future Career Benefit:
