Summary of Job Duties:

This posting will fill with either an APRN or PA.

The Advanced Practice Nurse/Physician Assistant works collaboratively with a physician and multidisciplinary health team to provide comprehensive care to outpatients. The APRN/PA is responsible for assessment diagnosis treatment management education health promotion and care coordination for patients and families with acute and chronic health needs.


Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

APRN:

  • Masters Degree in Nursing Family Medicine

  • Three (3) years of nursing experience.

  • Licensed Registered Nurse in Arkansas

  • APRN License

  • 1 year of APRN experience in a Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Clinic or Rheumatology preferred

PA:

  • Masters Degree Physician Assistant

  • 1 year of PA experience in a Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Clinic or Rheumatology clinic

  • PA

Preferred Qualifications:

APRN:

  • DNP

  • 3 years of nursing experience

  • 3 years of APRN experience in a Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Clinic or Rheumatology

PA:

  • 3 years of PA experience in a Family Medicine or Internal Medicine Clinic or Rheumatology clinic

Additional Information:

Responsibilities:

  • Extend the patient care and administrative services of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences physicians.

  • Provide comprehensive health assessments determine diagnoses implement treatment plans prescribe medical treatments and manage health issues for patients in collaboration with the designated physician(s).

  • Work autonomously as well as in collaboration with a variety of individuals to diagnose and manage patients health care problems; and will serve as a health care resource interdisciplinary consultant and patient advocate.

  • Coordinate the multidisciplinary care of patients facilitating all necessary consults and assuring that care is timely and appropriate.

  • Interacts with and assists the public in a professional and friendly manner as needed.

  • Demonstrates effective communication skills; communicates accurate and complete information; maintains strict confidentiality when necessary.

  • Demonstrates positive working relationships with co-workers management team and ancillary departments; follows the Core Concepts of Patient and Family Centered Care and the Basic Code of Conduct Guidelines.

  • Assist internal and external stakeholders as needed with exceptional customer service.

  • Extend the patient care and administrative services of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences physicians.

  • Other duties as assigned.
