The Mindess School is seeking a Grade 4 Long-Term Substitute School Counselor for the academic year. Anticipated start date is February 5 2026 with the assignment concluding around May 4 2026. Mindess is a vibrant learning community dedicated to academic excellence and the social emotional growth of every student. We foster a collaborative environment where educators students and families partner to build a strong foundation for lifelong learning.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Provide individual and small-group counseling
- Facilitate weekly SEL lessons in fourth grade classrooms
- Collaborate with teachers administrators and families to support student social-emotional growth
- Assist with crisis intervention and student support plans as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with school staff and families
- Participate in student support meetings and professional development opportunities
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree required
- Degree in counseling or related field preferred
- DESE licensure as a School Counselor preferred
- Ability to build rapport with students and foster a positive inclusive learning environment
- Flexibility reliability and a collaborative mindset
