Job Description

ACCIONA Agua is seeking an experienced Mechanical Lead Engineer to take a key role in the development of a major water infrastructure tender in Adelaide. This position will focus on leading mechanical design activities ensuring technical excellence and supporting the tender process for large-scale water treatment projects.

The Mechanical Lead will work closely with multidisciplinary teams providing technical leadership and coordination throughout the tender phase from concept design to detailed engineering input. This is a pivotal role for someone passionate about sustainable water solutions and delivering innovative engineering outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical design activities for major water infrastructure projects including desalination and water treatment plants.

  • Develop and review technical calculations specifications and procurement documentation.

  • Prepare and manage digital design information including drawing registers and change requests.

  • Provide input into tender documentation cost estimates and technical proposals.

  • Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with project requirements and timelines.

  • Support project delivery planning risk assessments and resource allocation during the tender phase.

Required Skills and Competencies

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.

  • Minimum 5 years experience in mechanical design for water infrastructure projects.

  • Strong knowledge of desalination and water treatment processes.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Flexibility to travel within Australia as required.

  • Spanish language skills are desirable but not essential.
