Howden has a range of compressors blowers fans steam turbines and rotary heat exchangers and has been at the forefront of developing engineered solutions for the needs of industrial processes since 1854. In 2023 Howden joined forces with Chart Industries a global leader in engineered equipment for clean energy and industrial gas markets.

The Training

Our Graduate Programme follows the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) competencies and during the first two years of the programme you will develop your knowledge and skills in different areas of the business through 8 x 3 month placements in core areas such as: design research contract engineering project management manufacturing and field services; ensuring that you gain the knowledge experience and skills required to reach Chartered status by IMechE. After your first two years in the programme you will move to a permanent role whilst continuing to receive mentoring from some of our most experienced and accredited leaders.

Whilst you will be based in our Renfrew location you will be part of our global team working on projects around the globe. Our UK program also offers the opportunity to be part of our graduate led European network for engineering graduates.

What do you bring

We welcome applicants from Mechanical Aero-Mechanical Aeronautical and Product Design Engineering disciplines.

To be considered for our graduate scheme you must hold either an IMechE accredited MEng degree OR an IMechE accredited BEng (Hons) degree.
