Corporate Services is seeking an internal expression of interest to backfill a Senior Executive Band 1 position in their Finance team until 31 May 2026.
About the Role
As Director Budget Strategy and Performance you will be responsible for leading the strategic budget management for DPHI and its associated agencies. Your work will enable the organisation to maximise funding and delivery by directing budget strategy business planning delivery reporting and asset portfolio management. You will provide expert advice to Ministers the Secretary senior executives NSW Treasury and technical staff. The role involves balancing risks with support for strategic objectives influencing both internal and external stakeholders to better understand the impact of Government policy.
You will be responsible for building and leading a high-performing team of finance and program management professionals fostering strong engagement and collaboration. The role requires establishing and maintaining effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including Treasury Premiers Department and other government agencies. You will play a pivotal role in advocating for new proposals negotiating optimal outcomes and ensuring the Departments financial interests are protected in a complex and dynamic environment.

About You
You are an accomplished finance leader with relevant tertiary and professional accounting qualifications (such as CPA or CA) and significant experience at a senior level in business and budget strategy and planning reporting and project management. Your expertise enables you to provide thought leadership on current and emerging planning issues best practices and innovative solutions that support business objectives. You model the highest standards of ethical and professional behaviour promoting a culture of integrity and professionalism within the organisation and in external dealings.
Your advanced capabilities in communication collaboration and results delivery are complemented by your ability to think critically solve complex problems and maintain stakeholder relationships through negotiation and resolution. With a strong commitment to diversity inclusion and continuous learning you inspire direction and purpose in your team ensuring alignment with organisational strategy and government priorities.
