This serves as the Deputy Bureau Chief for the Bureau of Assisted Living Facilities Licensing in the Division of Public Health Licensing the absence of the Bureau Chief this position will have authority to make program decisions. The employee in this position will: - Serve as a resource for all supervisory/lead staff and supervision of direct reports. - Be responsible for assisting with bureau activities including but not limited to budget and strategic planning. - Be expected to make independent decisions and judgments based on their professional education programmatic experience and training. - Oversee the work of direct reports for accuracy and compliance to applicable statutes laws and rules. - Subject matter expert for public and other governmental agencies ombudsmen and health care professionals regarding State licensing.
| Job Duties: |
Serve as a resource to other supervisory/lead staff in the bureau. Planning administration and personnel management. Manage and direct subordinate staff (work assignments setting priorities hiring discipline provide training approving leave requests and preparing evaluations etc.)
Participate in the monitoring and evaluation of programmatic activities; budgeting activities; strategic planning and performance improvement initiatives; program policy procedures and rules revision; participate in meetings with key stakeholders and professional organizations for program and systems performance evaluation; attend and represent bureau at local regional state and national meetings as needed.
Review and edit detailed investigation reports or surveys statements of deficiencies cease and desist orders stipulations and other types of legal orders; ensure all forms and documents accurately completed within required time frames; recommend for or against state licensing; recommend enforcement actions testify at hearings.
Provide training and technical assistance to providers relating to requirements for State licensing and the complaint investigation process; serve as a resource for providers public and other governmental agencies ombudsmen and health care professionals regarding State licensing.
Participate in quality assurance/performance improvement activities.
Other duties as assigned as related to the position (typically 5% - 10%)

Bachelors degree in Public Health or Administration or in a related field with 2 years work progressive operational management experience in public health or system evaluation. Masters degree will substitute for 1 years of work experience.

- To help you build a financially secure future the State makes monthly contributions to finance your retirement benefit.
