About the Role
Reporting to the Workshop Supervisor this position is responsible for carrying out a range of fabrication repair and maintenance activities to customers forklifts.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Fabrication of steel components for material handling applications;
- Modification of forklifts and other material handling equipment;
- General fabrication and assembly of ancillary items for material handling applications;
- Repair of forklifts and other material handling equipment using metal-work techniques;
Skills and Experience:
- Relevant trade qualification;
- Strong welding competencies using MIG TIG Arc and Oxy-Acetylene
- Demonstrated experience in a similar fabrication or engineering role;
- Demonstrated machine-shop experience using lathes milling machines press-brake etc;
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings;
- Competent in the use of hand and power tools;
- Forklift licence preferred but not essential;
- Full understanding of WHS where you take pride in working safely and keeping your workstation clean;
- Sound communication skills;
- Strong ability to work as part of team;
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task;
