We are looking for a highly motivated and independent researcher to join our rapidly growing international team on January 1 2026. In this position you will lead your own research project while contributing to our overall program. You will have numerous opportunities to further develop your leadership and mentoring skills. The position is initially limited to one year.
What we offer:
- The salary will be based on the German E13 TV-L scale (100%) if terms and conditions under collective bargaining law are fulfilled
- Full-time employment currently 38.5 hours/week; part-time employment is also possible

Your tasks:
- Manage day-to-day operations of the laboratory ensuring smooth workflows and high-quality standards and lead an independent research project with full responsibility for design execution and dissemination of results
- Develop and apply ex vivo models including organoids 3D cell cultures and analyses of human samples (tissue and blood)
- Collaborate on animal research studies (experience is an asset)
- Supervise and mentor MD PhD and Masters students supporting their scientific and professional development
- Share budgetary and resource responsibilities with the Principal Investigator and contribute to data analysis and interpretation
Your profile:
- PhD (or equivalent) in biomedical sciences molecular biology cancer biology or a related discipline
- Strong background incell culture methods experience with ex vivo systems (organoids 3D culture human samples) and bioinformatics expertise is an asset
- Experience in animal research and bioinformatics skills are desirable
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and drive projects forward excellent problem-solving skills and a team-oriented mindset
- Comfortable working in a multidisciplinary collaborative environment
