We are looking for a skilled System Administrator with expertise in VMWare ESXi/vSphere to join our IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day administration maintenance and support of our virtualized environments ensuring their reliability and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
VMWare Environment Administration:
- Install configure and manage VMWare ESXi hosts and vSphere environments.
- Perform regular updates patches and upgrades to VMWare infrastructure.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation.
Virtual Machine Management:
- Create deploy and manage virtual machines according to business needs.
- Perform regular backups and restorations of virtual machines and configurations.
- Ensure virtual machines are configured for high availability and disaster recovery.
System Maintenance and Support:
- Conduct routine system checks and maintenance tasks to ensure system health.
- Provide technical support and resolve issues related to VMWare environments.
- Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations changes and procedures.
Security and Compliance:
- Implement security best practices within the VMWare environment including access controls and patch management.
- Ensure systems comply with organizational policies and industry standards.
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
Resource Management:
- Monitor and manage resource allocation (CPU memory storage) within the VMWare environment.
- Perform capacity planning to ensure sufficient resources for current and future needs.
- Optimize resource usage to enhance system performance and efficiency.
Network and Storage Integration:
- Configure and manage virtual networks within VMWare environments.
- Integrate and manage storage solutions (SAN NAS) with VMWare infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot network and storage issues impacting the virtual environment.
Collaboration and Training:
- Work closely with other IT team members to support ongoing projects and initiatives.
- Provide training and support to end-users and junior staff on VMWare tools and best practices.
- Participate in the development and implementation of IT policies and procedures.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
- Proven experience as a System Administrator with a focus on VMWare ESXi/vSphere.
- Strong knowledge of VMWare vCenter and related virtualization technologies.
- Familiarity with network and storage concepts and their application in a virtualized environment.
- Relevant certifications (e.g. VCP) are preferred.
Skills:
- Proficiency in VMWare ESXi and vSphere administration.
- Experience with VMWare tools such as vCenter and PowerCLI.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts (VLANs DNS DHCP TCP/IP).
- Knowledge of storage systems (SAN NAS) and their integration with VMWare.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
