Job Summary

POSITION SUMMARY:

A Developer 4 will work on-site at our corporate office in Springfield MO. and is a subject matter expert in at least one system or application and able to answer any questions that come from business partners.

Provide analysis design and develop new and existing software and create flow charts. Technically lead and mentor other developers. Effectively communicate with business users and perform process improvements configuration changes ad hoc and day to day activities.

Serves as a contributor and member to project teams in the applications area. Supports other IT areas and business community in monitoring and enhancing the performance of business applications including applications that are key components to the success of our business.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Design & Analysis: Work with BAs and architects to design the solutions. Create flow charts for technical analysis so that the project team can understand the data flow. Participates in formal and informal design and code review and assist team members and works with the QA team to facilitate quality assurance efforts. Performs analysis and design for programs and learns and adapts to new applications languages and techniques.
  • Development/Programming: Focused on supporting the development maintenance and support activities in keeping applications systems stable and functional in addition to increasing functionality for the user community. Serves as a contributor and member to project teams in the applications area. Completes administration tasks such as status reporting and documentation.
  • Lead Others: Technically lead and mentor other developers to produce error-free development.
  • Production Support: Provide Proactive team work on quick solutions while still validating the long-term solution.
  • Business Communications. Effectively communicates with business to identify system improvements. Supports business community in monitoring and enhancing their experience and performance of business applications.
  • Participate in the 24/7 on call rotation.
  • ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Degree Required: Bachelors Degree
  • Certificate(s) or License(s): A certificate of training or expert in one of the systems supported is preferred.
  • Years of experience: 8

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITY:

  • RPG ILE/Free Form development experience
  • iSeries/AS400 experience (DBU Hawkeye RDi SEU)
  • DB2/i database experience
  • Embedded SQL/SQL programming experience
  • Retail industry knowledge
  • Experience of any Retail/Merchandising product (eg. Blue Yonder/JDA MMS preferred)
  • Knowledge on at least two merchandising modules out of Master data management purchase order receiving demand replenishment forecast pricing and costing.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Team leadership skills
  • MQ experience
  • Experience working with offshore team.
  • GoAnywhere FTP experience
  • RPG XML programming experience
  • Web Services programming
  • Mentoring skills

  • Seldom to never lifting up to 50lbs

Uses judgment in adapting broad guidelines to achieve desired result. Regular exercise of independent judgment within accepted practices. Makes recommendations that affect policies procedures and practices.
