About the Role

  • Provide specialist palliative care (PC) advice and expertise both in direct care delivery and to mentor staff so they gain palliative care knowledge and skill.
  • Collaborate across the organisation acting in the roles of clinician educator consultant researcher and leader/change
  • Pursueclinical excellence and improved health outcomes.
  • Ensurequality nursing practice and evidence-based practice standards fostering education and research
  • Contributeto the strategic direction of PC practice for the organisation.
  • Rostered days Monday to Friday between 0800 and 1700 exact times to be negotiated.
  • Full training will be provided if you are not yet at a specialist nurse level and you may also be enrolled in a training programme for Registered Nurse to Clinical Nurse Specialist.

About you

  • Minimum of 3 years practice in palliative care nursing and advanced knowledge and skills.

  • Advanced communication techniques such as conflict resolution diffusion and mediation skills.

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills

  • Either hold or be working towards post graduate qualification at a minimum of a diploma or/and a masters degree

  • Competency with te ao Māori tikanga and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth

  • Experience in projects / initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.

Salary Range
This role is covered by the terms and conditions of the NZNO CEA and the salary will be in accordance with the RN Pay Scale between Step 3 $86519 and Step 7 $106739 pro-rata p.a OR DSN Pay Scale Grade 2 between Step 1 $116040 and Step 3 $127674 pro-rata p.a dependant on relevant experience.
