Senior Software Engineer Finance Data Assurance

We are the Finance Data Assurance team the team that powers Wises financial controls on the ledger. The integrity of our financial data is paramount as it powers crucial functions like data governance business intelligence and compliance services.

The mission of our Finance Data Assurance team is to ensure Wises financial data is accurate and trustworthy. We achieve this by building an intelligent automated and scalable platform for its management and resolution.

Were looking for someone who can think holistically about our financial ecosystem and deliver novel solutions that enable intelligent automation and proactive issue detection.

Were looking for an engineer who can transform complex requirements into simple elegant solutions that help our teams achieve our mission with speed and confidence.

As a Senior Engineer you will take the lead on solving complex technical problems and guide the team toward comprehensive scalable solutions. You will:

• Design and Deliver: Architect build and maintain low-latency distributed applications using Java Spring and Kafka that form the backbone of our issue discovery and resolution platform.
• Lead Projects: Take ownership of key projects driving the implementation of our technical roadmap in a fast-paced collaborative environment.
• Mentor and Guide: Coach and mentor other engineers fostering a culture of technical excellence and knowledge sharing through code reviews and design discussions.
• Own Your Systems: Monitor troubleshoot and resolve issues within our high-throughput production environment ensuring the reliability of critical financial applications.
• Collaborate and Influence: Work closely with product managers operations teams and other engineers to articulate complex technical concepts and align on strategic goals.

• A genuine interest in and passion for understanding how financial systems work.
• Strong technical skills in Java (or other JVM-based languages) Spring and Kafka with experience building distributed high-throughput applications.
• Comfort working across the stack with some experience in front-end technologies like JavaScript and React.
• A disciplined approach to testing and a high degree of comfort making changes to business-critical financial applications.
• Proven experience running projects collaborating with others and navigating the path to successful delivery.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly.
• You are a natural team player who builds strong collaborative professional relationships.
