We take a comprehensive approach by offering more than 180 integrated programs in: Education & Youth Development Family Support Job Training & Employment Support Services Health Housing and Legal Services. We reach almost 80000 individuals and families including almost 13000 serves a diverse cross section of New Yorkers from new mothers in Brownsville to job seekers in the Rockaways. More than half of our clients are immigrants and refugees from around the globe. Over 85% of our families are living in poverty reflecting the challenges faced by nearly 1.7 million New Yorkers today.

Program Overview

Workforce Development and Refugee Services programs annually provides over 3800 low-income community members with employment education training benefits access financial literacy and English language services. These programs are performance-based and success is measured by meeting enrollment employment placement training retention and case management goals.

Position: Supervisor

Reports To: Manager/Director

Location: Brownsville East New York Starett City and Cypress Hills

What The Supervisor Does:

The person filling this position is expected under general direction to ensure the smooth day-to-day running and supervision of the project -Job Training and Support for Employment for Single Parents (through the Peoples money Participatory Budgeting (PB) process) as well as program-related staff and services in accordance with all program goals targets and performance outcomes and all CAMBA and program policies procedures and protocols. Through this project our organization must serve the Brooklyn TRIE neighborhoods of Brownsville East NY Starrett City and Cypress Hills through October of 2026.

Please note: This role is a temporary position funded through October 2026. Continued employment beyond this date is not guaranteed.

  • Supervise direct reporting staff and communicate effectively with clients team members supervisors/managers and funders.
  • Plan and organize program activities to maximize program contracts goals and performance targets for Single Parents
  • Maintain own client caseload and prescreen clients for eligibility and schedule intake appointments.
  • One-on-One Supervision sessions per direct report will be conducted bi-weekly.
  • Conduct quality review of information entered data system and compare it to case file data and services delivered to ensure accurate reporting and claims validation.
  • Conduct initial intake or assessment of clients and their periodic reassessments.
  • Monitor clients progress towards their goals weekly.
  • Motivate coach and counsel direct reporting staff to excel.
  • Improve teamwork among direct reporting staff as well as among peers.
  • Troubleshoot client and direct reporting staff program problems and make decisions in accordance with program policies procedures and protocols.
  • Work with direct reporting staff to improve work performance through client feedback training and other appropriate mechanisms.
  • Administer constructive discipline to direct reporting staff as needed.
  • Manage own time effectively and coordinate program activities to maximize time of direct reporting staff.
  • Review all documentation related to clients progress for accuracy completeness and clarity.
  • Lead and participate in administrative and staff meetings as requested.
  • Provide all required information for weekly/monthly/quarterly/semester/annual reports to CAMBA management and/or to funders.
  • Review and approve direct reporting staff vacation time.
  • Review and approve direct reporting staff timesheet (if needed)
  • Prepare performance appraisals for direct reporting staff.
  • Prepare marketing materials for the program (if needed)
  • Reach out and market the program to the community partners in order to recruit clients.
  • Coordinate and facilitate social/peer support events including group facilitation for clients.
  • Attend programs workshops
  • Tasks may be modified expanded and/or assigned with additional responsibilities over time.

Minimum Education/Experience Required:

  • Bachelors Degree (B.A.) and/or equivalent experience.
  • Two years plus of relevant field experience preferred.
  • Computer/ Data base /Data Entry knowledge.

Compensation: $62000 annually

Status: Full-time (35 hours per week)
