Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in delivering high quality early years education to children
- Support the planning and implementation of age-appropriate activities that promote childrens development
- Observe childrens progress and provide feedback to senior practitioners
- Build positive relationships with children parents and staff
- Ensure the childrens safety and well-being at all times following safeguarding policies and procedures
- Maintain a clean safe and welcoming learning environment
- Attend training sessions and complete coursework as part of the apprenticeship programme
- Contribute to a team that fosters positive inclusive and engaging learning experiences
Skills and Attributes
- A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their development
- Excellent verbal communication skills to interact effectively with children parents and colleagues
- Ability to listen actively and respond appropriately to childrens needs and queries
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and follow guidance from experienced practitioners
- A patient empathetic and caring nature
- A proactive attitude and a willingness to learn and take on new challenges
- Good organisational skills and the ability to follow instructions
- Previous experience or a keen interest in early years education (desirable but not essential)
- A commitment to completing the apprenticeship programme and gaining qualifications
- Understanding of basic safeguarding principles and a commitment to ensuring childrens safety and well-being
- Ability to maintain a high standard of professional conduct including punctuality reliability and adherence to policies
Education and Qualifications
Maths and English at GCSE level A-C (4-9) or functional skills equivalent.
