We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Manager to join our Product Management finance team. The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience in finance with a strong focus on supporting product management functions. This role will be critical in providing comprehensive finance oversight to Research & Development (R&D) programs conducting annual government accounting updates supporting Marubeni Joint Ventures (JVs) managing R&D program financials partnering with Product Management leadership and supporting lean activities related to Capital Allocation Hoshin.
Roles and Responsibilities
Finance Oversight for R&D Programs: Financial Planning: Develop and maintain financial plans and budgets for R&D programs ensuring alignment with strategic objectives. Regularly monitor financial performance against plans identifying variances and providing actionable insights. Implement cost management strategies to optimize R&D spending and improve financial efficiency.
Annual Government Accounting Updates: DOE Rate Calculation: Conduct annual Department of Energy (DOE) rate calculations ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations. Prepare and maintain all necessary certification and documentation for government accounting updates. Provide support during audits ensuring all financial records and documentation are readily available and accurate.
R&D Programs Support: Oracle Tool Maintenance: Maintain and enhance Oracle tool used for R&D program financial management. Provide training to Product Management team members on the use of Oracle and Smartsheet for financial updates. Manage and ensure timely financial updates in Oracle and Smartsheet maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records.
Product Line Financials (PLF): Manage all aspects related to PLF (product family financials insights). Ensure reconciliation with reported financials and align allocation logic with Gas Power FP&A team. Leverage PLF to provide financials insights to Product Management team and ensure adherence to PLF data for R&D programs say-do measurement.
Support for JVs: Audits: Assist in preparing for and managing audits related to the JVs ensuring all financial aspects are thoroughly reviewed and compliant. Prepare financial materials and reports for presentation to the Board of Directors (BoD) ensuring clarity and accuracy.
Operations Partnership with Product Management Leadership: Build strong partnerships with Product Management leaders and team members to understand their financial needs and provide tailored solutions. Provide ongoing financial support and guidance to Product Management operations ensuring alignment with financial strategies. Serve as a liaison between Product Management and Finance facilitating clear and effective communication.
Support for Lean Activities Related to Capital Allocation Hoshin: Assist in the implementation of lean principles within Capital Allocation Hoshin identifying opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains.
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree from an accredited university or college or equivalent knowledge or experience
Minimum of 7 years of finance experience of increasing responsibility
