Position Overview

Legacy Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing & Procurement Specialist on behalf of our client. This role is critical to ensuring timely and accurate procurement of materials and equipment for ongoing projects. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills excellent communication abilities and experience managing supplier relationships in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supplier Management: Identify and evaluate potential suppliers negotiate contracts and maintain strong vendor relationships to secure favorable terms and pricing
  • Order Processing: Prepare and process purchase orders with accurate specifications and pricing; obtain necessary approvals from management
  • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels track deliveries and resolve discrepancies related to shipments product quality or missing materials
  • Collaboration: Work closely with crew management and leaders to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment for projects

Required Skills

  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple purchasing tasks and priorities efficiently
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication for interacting with suppliers crew members and management
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with procurement software and knowledge of materials/equipment used in industrial projects (e.g. pipe fittings gaskets forklifts booms)
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word Excel Outlook; ability to proofread documents for accuracy and grammar
  • Driving Requirements: Clean driving record (no DUIs or serious violations); ability to drive larger vehicles and tow trailers

Work Environment

  • Varied Settings: Combination of office and fieldwork; must be comfortable working in extreme weather conditions
  • Multitasking: Ability to manage several tasks and assist multiple projects simultaneously
  • Travel: Frequent travel to out-of-town job sites; some assignments may require overnight stays ($172 per diem provided)
  • High-Pressure Environment: Ability to perform under stress and meet deadlines daily
