CHEP is seeking a motivated Yard Driver to support our operations in Kilgore this role youll play a key part in keeping our logistics moving smoothly by managing trailer positioning and ensuring compliance with all safety standards.
What Youll Do
Trailer Movement & Yard Organization
- Safely operate a yard spotter truck to move trailers between dock doors loading zones and storage areas.
- Hook and unhook trailers and maintain a clean organized yard with clear traffic paths.
Safety & Equipment Checks
- Follow all CHEP and regulatory safety procedures including PPE requirements and yard traffic rules.
- Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on yard trucks and trailers; report any maintenance needs promptly.
Documentation & Communication
- Accurately record trailer movements and report any issues.
- Coordinate with warehouse staff loaders and shipping/receiving teams to ensure trailers are positioned correctly and on time.
Material Handling & Forklift Operation
- Operate forklifts to move pallets and materials throughout the facility.
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks ensuring proper placement and securement of items.
- Conduct forklift inspections and report any concerns immediately.
Other Duties
- Support additional tasks as assigned by management.
