About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Payroll Accountant to join our Finance
team. This pivotal role will be responsible for overseeing the accurate and timely processing of payroll
for employees across Australia Ireland Israel Sweden and United Kingdom. The ideal candidate will
possess a strong technical accounting background expert knowledge of international payroll
compliance and a proven ability to reconcile payroll general ledger accounts and resolve complex
payroll and tax issues. This position will be reporting to the Global Payroll Manager located in United
States.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and execute the end-to-end processing of payroll for employees by utilizing systems
such as BambooHR & Zedra etc. as well as communications with local payroll providers. - Prepare and post complex payroll journal entries ensuring accurate allocation across
departments and cost centers. - Perform monthly quarterly and annual reconciliation of all payroll-related GL accounts.
- Identify opportunities for process efficiencies and implement best practices to improve the
accuracy and scalability of the payroll function. - Research and resolve complex payroll tax and deduction inquiries from employees HR and
external vendors (e.g. benefits administrators tax authorities).
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related quantitative field.
- 4-7 years of progressive experience in end-to-end payroll processing preferably for a global organization.
- Proficiency in standard business software suites including Google Workspace (Sheets Docs).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g. Pivot Tables VLOOKUPs data manipulation) for reporting and analysis.
- Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP principles as they relate to payroll accounting accruals and General Ledger (GL) reconciliation
- Proven history of high accountability and exercising discretion when handling confidential data.
- Exceptional attention to detail organizational skills and commitment to data accuracy.
- Possess a strong work ethic professional demeanor and a positive solution-oriented attitude.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities work efficiently under pressure and consistently meet strict payroll deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with employees vendors and management.
- Proven ability to work independently and proactively manage tasks with minimal supervision.
- A highly collaborative team player capable of building strong working relationships across Finance HR and other departments.
