Role Overview

What You Will Do

• Designimplementandmaintainautomatedinfrastructuretoensureconsistencyandscalability.
• CodinganddevelopingthenextgenerationofDatabaseautomationandinfrastructureascode.
• Setupmonitoringandloggingsystemstoproactivelydetectandaddresspotentialissuesensuringoptimalperformanceandreliability.
• ManagehundredsofAurora/MySQLDynamoDBandMongo/DocumentDBdatabasesincludingtuningformaximumperformancebackupsdisasterrecoverystrategiesandtheiractive/passivecounterpartsinAWS.
• MigrateAuroraMySQLtoNewSQL
• Workcloselywithcross-functionalteamsincludingapplicationteamdevelopersinfrastructureteamsTPMstoimprovetheoveralldatabaseprocesses.
• Assistinidentifyingandresolvingoperationalissuesandparticipatinginon-callrotations.

Minimum Qualifications

• 6yearsofrelevantindustryexperienceindatabaseoperationswithafocusonbuildingautomationandmaintainingscalableinfrastructuresarounddata.
• BachelorsdegreeinComputerScienceorequivalent

Preferred Qualifications

• Atleast10yearsofexpertiseindatabaseoperationswithafocusonbuildingautomationandmaintainingscalableinfrastructuresarounddata.
• Atleast10yearsofworkingdirectlywithMySQLataSeniorlevel.
• Atleast5yearsofexperienceworkingonNoSQLdatastoressuchasDynamoDBCassandra.
• Atleast5yearsofexperiencewithdevelopingtoolsandcodeforautomationinPython.
• ExperiencewithNewSQL(TiDBSpannerAuroraDSQL)
• Atleast5yearsofexperienceinleadershipandcommunicatingwiththebusiness.
• Atleast5yearsofexperiencecreatingautomationinmultipledatabasetechnologiesusingmodernsoftwareengineeringpracticesinPython.
• Strongproblem-solvingskillsandtheabilitytoworkinafast-pacedagileenvironment.
• SolidunderstandingofAWS-baseddatamanagementtechnologies.
• ExperiencewithinfrastructureascodeusingTerraform.
• UnderstandingofCI/CDtools.
• UnderstandingofnetworkingconceptssuchasloadbalancingandDNS.
