ResponsibilitiesYour Role:
You will be responsible for the payroll and benefits administration for approximately 1300 employees with duties not limited to:
- Managing the full cycle of benefits portal updates for new hires and departing employees
- Assist employees with enrolling in retirement savings plans
- Processing employee life events and status changes promptly
- Managing relationships with third-party vendors for billing and issue resolution
- Conducting monthly bill reconciliation and departmental cost allocation
- Ensuring accurate maintenance of digital personnel records
You will handle escalated Benefits and Pension plan issues while delivering new hire orientation sessions creating and maintaining educational materials organizing carrier-led information sessions and wellness seminars providing guidance on plan selection and optimization and supporting employees during annual enrollment periods.
You will assist in processing semi-monthly payrolls with duties not limited to: Preparing New hire leaver and pay change files calculating vacation entitlement interpreting payroll change reports and creating audit files and preparing Journal Entries.
You will deliver backup coverage and assistance to the Payroll Specialist when needed
You will ensure the information in Ceridian benefits module matches the information with the benefits carrier by identifying discrepancies through reconciliation and correcting the information
You will create and update reports or spreadsheets such as: Payroll audit pension contribution reconciliation and benefits reconciliation
You will respond to and resolve inquiries related to payroll benefits RRSP pension disability and leave matters while providing comprehensive support to employees on plan offerings and options.
You will ensure timely response to all stakeholder inquiries including HR team members Finance department management employees and external partners
You will maintain digital employee records to facilitate audits and ready access to payroll and benefits information
You will maintain current knowledge in benefits payroll and related legislation
You will provide admin support to ad hoc projects to the Payroll and Benefits Manager and will be performing other duties and responsibilities inherent to the position as required
QualificationsAbout You:
Holds a bachelors degree in business administration accounting finance or HR with a strong interest in payroll.
Has 23years of experience in payroll and benefits administration.
Demonstrates solid knowledge of Ceridian Dayforce.
Can selfprioritize work exhibiting excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Handles confidential information with a high degree of discretion and tact.
Works collaboratively in a team environment.
Is computersavvy with proven competence in Microsoft Word Excel and HR systems.
Manages conflicting priorities and a demanding workload effectively.
Possesses strong written and verbal communication skills.
Payroll and Compliance Professional (PCP) certification is an asset.
